Clyde & Nora in 1908
In 1908, when Clyde was 21 years-old and Nora was 16 years-old, Clyde went to the county courthouse in Clearfield on April 13th and took out an application for a marriage license.1 Nora’s father George gave his permission for the marriage.

Clyde was living in Pine Glen. Nora was living in Goshen Township, Clearfield County, presumably at the lumber camp where she worked as a cook.2
They were married by Rev. J. Vernon Bell in DuBois on Thursday, April 16th. The minister submitted the paperwork to the courthouse the next day.

Unfortunately, the digital photo I took is too blurry to make out the names of the witnesses and the marriage license docket doesn’t provide that information.

I’ve never heard how they met, but I imagine it was while her family was living in Burnside Township. If anyone knows the story it would be a great addition to the family history.
