Clyde & Nora in 1920
If we jump back to the 1920 census, we find Clyde, Nora and family living in Girard Township, Clearfield County.1 They were living on a rented farm, probably on Knobbs Road, with their six children, ages one to eleven years-old.

Both Clyde and Nora indicated they could read, write and speak English. Harold, Russ, Helen and Betz were attending school, while Boots and Clyde Jr. were still too young to do so.
All the children were born in Clearfield County, while both Clyde and Nora were born in Centre County. According to the record, Clyde’s father was born in Clearfield County, and his mother and Nora’s parents were born in Centre County. Earlier records, however, show that Samuel Hoover, Clyde’s father, was likely born in Jefferson County.
